Launching the Roadman Blueprint
Roadman, I've been waiting a long, long time for this podcast. Today I want to talk about the launch of the Roadman Blueprint. Let's cue that intro! The big question is this. How do we use cycling as a tool to improve our health, our happiness, and our longevity? That is the question on this podcast will give you the answers. My name is Anthony Walsh and welcome to the Roadman Podcast. Roadman, welcome back to our Roadman Cycling Podcast. Today I'm super excited to bring you this episode. This is actually a product I've been working on for I'd say roughly 18 to 19 months. but it's the culmination of my entire coaching career. So, Roadman is coming up on, I obviously rebranded from A1 to Roadman, but the coaching company, it's coming up this January on 10 years. Like, if that's not a measure of trust, I don't know what to say, and that's a massive thanks to really the clients who keep it going and have meant that I can stay away from a legal career and can make a living from coaching for the last decade, which is unbelievable to me. But the Roman blueprint is something that I've wanted to create basically since I started coaching. The technology wasn't there. I didn't have the resources and I didn't have the time to put in to dedicate and to create something like this. So it was always on the dream list. But I finally created the tool that I wished I had when I started cycling. I'm absolutely fascinated by human behavior. And I'm fascinated by this idea of why do some people excel in soil and others don't? And the answer is not training because I'll tell you, we used to do group training plans so while I go where you do, you know, build a training plan for a group, you know, they're all trying for an event, the gory or the ross. You know, tree day event or an eight day event, they're all trying for it. And you'd watch as some people in this group, all do the exact same training with the exact same availability and some Excel and others don't. They get like vastly different results and I'm not talking small little difference, it's huge results. So the answer is there's a lot more going on in this game than just training. And the answer, I've known it for a long time but it's only when I sat down 18 months ago to start creating this roadman blueprint that I realised what it is. The answer realised how to articulate, should say. The answer is the framework. You think about it. Everything is a framework. It's never just a single act. It's a framework, a series of steps. Like how do we get a six pack? The answer is not sit-ups. The answer is a framework. The answer is yes, there's a routine of the un-sit-ups every morning, but also there's nutrition. Also there's hydration. Also there's sleep. So that is our framework for getting six pack. Sit ups, hydration, nutrition, sleep framework for getting six pack. Boom. How did I become a lawyer? It's not just get books and read. That's not how you become a lawyer. It's not the framework for being a lawyer. The certain boxes you need to take, the professional exams you need to do. And the certain schmoozing you need to do to be accepted into that. That's all part of the framework for being a lawyer. Exactly like the best analogy of a framework is a recipe. like how do you bake a cake? There's a step-by-step recipe. It's not just one ingredient doesn't make a cake and much like a cake that I found out my detriment many many times, if you omit one single ingredient from this framework the whole thing is fucked and it doesn't even taste like a cake and I see this so often because when I identify what the framework was for success in Saiglin, I watched as some people fumbled around and tried to do this themselves.
The Five-Step Success Framework
Maybe some people got four of the five elements and it didn't work for them. They weren't getting the success that we were seeing across clients and I often wondered why and it wasn't until I articulated and broke down and said this is the framework and there is five unique steps in the framework and if you omit any of these steps it's not going to work at all much like the cake it's going to be spoiled. The five steps in the framework and this Roman blueprint that I've built, it's training. So we We use a special type of training called reverse periodization and I'm going to talk to you about that. The second step is nutrition. You need to be fueling for the demands of your event, but if you're carrying a little bit of weight, you need to be running a calorie deficit. How much calorie deficit, what meals should you use? That's all covered in it. You need to be doing strength and conditioning. That's the toward element. You need to have a motivational sports psychology element. That's the forte element. And you need to be incorporating biohacks. That's the fifth element to reduce cortisol. You miss one of those five elements in the framework for success in cycling and you won't Get success. You just won't and so I'm doing a web class Distour a day and I'm gonna Brit it's completely free. I'm gonna give you the link now Just make sure I'll put it in the description. It's romance I come for it slash web Hifen class Hifen is like a fancy private skill term for like a little dash. It's in the description down below So you can click if there's only a limited number of seats folks. I am gonna repeat it again next week So if you don't get a seat this week, don't fret. I'm gonna do it again next week So go on to that link register. It's completely free train. I'm gonna do a distour stay at 6 30 and it's box off about 90 minutes and 90 minutes being present put your phone away have a laptop get ready to take some notes because I'm gonna dive deep into this and this is going to be the launch of the roadman blueprint but I've always been fascinated by the idea of secrets. Because that's what they are, the secrets that some successful writers know that others don't and this really was brought to the forefront of my mind when I was trying to make it as a full-time writer and I knew some things that was piecing together some bits of training and some bits of nutrition and then I became friends with Michael Barry and he was writing for Team Sky at the time and he'd been coached by Tim Kerish and I think at the time. And he showed me how to train, how to eat, he showed me a lifestyle, and that was the first time where I thought, oh my God, the world tour guys, especially the sky guys, they have secrets that everyone else doesn't know. And I've become fascinated with this idea of secrets ever since that. There's just something really cool that I know something that you don't. So I'm structuring the web class like that, and I'm going through the web class, and I want to answer three, I give you the answer to three core secrets. So the fourth secret that I want to give you the answer to, and this is such a pep cave of mine, it's the secret to finally looking like an athlete. Because I was over in New York last week and I stopped at a couple of cycling pathways and you see guys sitting around and they've obviously cycled to huge part of their life and they ride a lot.
Weight, Motivation and FTP Secrets
But despite that no one looks like an athlete. They look like fat middle-aged dudes in Loygra, mammals. So I want to talk what I've learned about weight loss and how to get the optimum cycling weight. So you can finally look like an athlete and tell me it's not the way you think, it's a different little twist on it. The second secret I want to tackle in this web class, I want to talk to you about the how to experience motivation like you've never had before. So every single session you show up with unlimited motivation and the truth about how every unmotivated side just can reach the cycling goals even if you've failed in the past. And this is just so key because so many of us hit the ground this time of year, we're running really motivated but that dips in at Wayne's and there's a secret to keeping that going all year round. It's brilliant, I can't wait to share that one with you. And the final one and this is something we've worked on and we've built a one coaching around this idea and it's nearly proprietary. I don't know if there's another coaching company coaching like this but I'm gonna show you our in-house secret to improving your threshold. We're seeing clients there at last season looking at it. We're seeing clients that are hitting 20% improvements in their FTP, some of these guys aren't trying to mourn 8, 9 hours a week. So if you have a restrictive time schedule at the moment and you feel like that's your excuse, I'm going to flip that and it's heading, I'm going to show you how your excuse that restrictive time schedule, that excuse you're making right now to yourself, don't lie, I'm going to show you how that excuse can actually become your number one training asset. This web class is going to be pure for our folks, I'm going going to it a lot deeper than I can in the podcast because I need visual aids, I need slides, any prompts, all those things. Completely free, no charge. It's romancecycling.com forward slash web, hyphen class. The link is in the description or the bio down below. I can't wait to chat to you all on Thursday. Oh my God, I'm so freaking excited to launch this. Honestly, it's 18 months of blood, sweat and tears gone into this. It's absolutely going to be epic and I can't wait to teach and answer you all these questions and in the process launch and showcase to you this Roman blueprint. This is the next generation for Roman cycle. It's basically the only product we're going to be selling on forward because anything else is not the injustice to our clients if you have coaching without the order steps in the framework. It just doesn't cut the mustard. This is why not everybody is succeeding in cycling and everybody should be succeeding in cycling. And success looks different to you and me but everybody should be successful in cycling. And with this framework and this blueprint, you will be a can't wait. See you on tourist day. So it's rollmancycle.com. or you can join the channel. Thank you. Bye! See you next time! Bye! Bye! Bye! Bye! Bye!
