Explore the guides below if you want to compare coaching options before applying.

Commercial disclosure: Roadman Cycling sells the coaching service described here. The coach-selection checklist and 2026 price audit state that conflict and separate public market comparisons from the Roadman offer.

COMEBACK

I signed up for Not Done Yet after a bad accident in March 2025 and was struggling to get back to the same level. I was starting to lose my enthusiasm for riding. Four months later, I've got my mojo back and I'm really enjoying riding again. Just signed up for my first race this coming Tuesday.

His depth of knowledge is truly impressive; whether it's fine-tuning my power zones, perfecting my cadence, or explaining the 'why' behind every interval, he brings an expert level of insight that is hard to find. Beyond the technical skills, his professionalism is unmatched. He's organized, responsive, and manages my training plan with a level of care and precision that keeps me motivated and injury-free. If you're looking for a coach who combines extensive, elite-level expertise with a thorough, data backed approach, I'd recommend Anthony.

WHEN HARD WORK STOPS MOVING THE NUMBERS.

You may already have a power meter, a training app and a calendar full of intervals. When progress becomes unclear, the problem is deciding which signal matters and what should change next.

More work is not automatically the answer. Training load, recovery, fuelling, work and the purpose of the block may all alter the next decision. Software can organise and adapt workouts; the coaching service adds a named human team responsible for interpreting that context.

The value to assess is judgement, review and accountability—not access to another workout library.

WHY A CYCLING COACH?

  • Plans that adapt weekly based on your data and life context
  • Fuelling guidance coordinated with the purpose of the training block
  • Strength programming periodised with your riding
  • Recovery decisions considered alongside completed training load
  • A private rider community for shared learning and accountability
  • Relevant lessons from a 1,400+ episode podcast catalogue used to inform coaching decisions

COACH

THE FIVE-PILLAR SYSTEM

Roadman coordinates five parts of the coaching service so the plan, fuelling, strength, recovery and rider context are reviewed together. No programme can guarantee a particular result.

01

TRAINING

Your TrainingPeaks plan is reviewed each week against completed rides, your feedback and the time available for the next block.

02

NUTRITION

General fuelling, race-weight, and body-composition guidance coordinated with the training plan. Clinical nutrition questions are referred to an appropriately qualified professional.

03

STRENGTH

Cycling-specific strength and conditioning periodised alongside your riding so the combined load, recovery and event calendar are considered together.

04

RECOVERY

Sleep, stress, subjective feedback and recovery capacity considered alongside completed training when the next week is reviewed.

05

COMMUNITY

Weekly live group coaching, a private group of serious cyclists, and individual plan reviews by the Roadman coaching team. The community adds shared learning and accountability between reviews.

IS COACHING RIGHT FOR YOU?

YES, IF YOU...

  • Have been riding 1-2+ years and stopped improving
  • Train consistently but can't break through your FTP plateau
  • Want structure but don't know how to build a proper plan
  • Have limited hours and need every session to count
  • Are over 40 and feel the gains getting harder to find
  • Have tried apps and self-coaching and hit a wall

NOT IF YOU...

  • ×Are brand new to cycling (start with our free Clubhouse first)
  • ×Already have a coach you're happy with
  • ×Just want a generic plan to follow without feedback

FROM CYCLISTS WHO'VE DONE IT

DAMIEN MALONEY

· FTP: 205w → 295w

The system took me from Cat 3 to Cat 1. The structured approach changed everything about how I train and race.

DANIEL STONE

· Roadman Cycling Club

This really works. I'm training so much less than last year, at lower intensities and not getting sick. FTHR up from 175 to 180, peak HR up to 193.

BRIAN MORRISSEY

· Age 52, shift worker

From 315lbs to sub-100kg, and I'm still going. The accountability and structure changed my life — not just my cycling.

OR BY CITY

COMMON QUESTIONS

IS A CYCLING COACH WORTH IT?

A cycling coach can be worth it when you have trained consistently for one or two years but stopped improving, cannot explain a repeated plateau, or need a plan that changes with work, recovery and completed data. It is not a guaranteed shortcut: fit depends on the coach's scope, review cadence, communication and your ability to complete and recover from the work. Roadman publishes named case studies with each rider's starting point, intervention, timeframe, outcome and caveats so you can judge the evidence directly.

HOW DOES ONLINE CYCLING COACHING WORK?

You get a personalised training plan on TrainingPeaks that adapts weekly based on your data, life context, and how you responded to the previous week. This includes weekly live group coaching led by Anthony, individual plan reviews by the Roadman coaching team, nutrition guidance, strength programming, and access to a private community of serious cyclists. Everything is remote, so the team can review your training data wherever you ride.

HOW MUCH DOES A CYCLING COACH COST?

Not Done Yet is $195 per month and includes an individual TrainingPeaks plan reviewed weekly by the Roadman coaching team, an Anthony-led live group coaching call, nutrition and strength guidance, and a private community of serious cyclists. Your first seven days are free and you can cancel anytime.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CYCLING APP AND A CYCLING COACH?

A training app mainly automates workouts and progression rules. A human coach can interpret completed data alongside sleep, work, travel, feedback and goals, then change the next decision. Coaching is not clinical care: persistent pain, illness, disordered eating or injury should be referred to an appropriately qualified health professional rather than diagnosed by a cycling coach.

DO I NEED A POWER METER FOR COACHING?

A power meter makes coaching significantly more effective because it gives your coach objective data to work with. However, it is not required to start. Many of our members begin with heart rate and RPE and add a power meter later. We will help you get the most out of whatever setup you have.

CAN I GET COACHING IF I ONLY RIDE 6-8 HOURS PER WEEK?

Yes. Roadman coaching is designed for serious amateurs with real-life constraints, and the normal fit is six to twelve training hours per week. With six to eight hours, the plan prioritises the sessions that match your goal and protects enough easy riding and recovery to absorb them. Your application is reviewed before purchase so the team can say whether the available time and goal are compatible.

DO YOU COACH CYCLISTS IN IRELAND, THE UK, AND THE USA?

Yes. Roadman Cycling is based in Dublin, Ireland, and the service is delivered online to cyclists in Ireland, the UK, the USA and other countries. Plans and completed rides are managed in TrainingPeaks. Weekly live group coaching includes a recording; the application process confirms whether the communication cadence and service are a practical fit for your location and schedule.
