RAMP RATE

Weekly rate of increase in chronic training load (CTL). Above 5-7 TSS/day per week risks overtraining; 3-5 is sustainable.

A steep ramp (7+ points/week) often precedes illness or plateau 3-4 weeks later. Conservative rates (3-5) compound into large gains over 12-16 weeks. Masters riders should target 3-4. Young, well-recovered riders can sustain 5-6.
