BIKE FIT

The process of adjusting saddle height, reach, stack, cleat position, and cockpit dimensions to match a cyclist's body. Affects power output, comfort, injury risk, and aerodynamics.

A proper bike fit is the single highest-return equipment investment for most cyclists. Common issues: saddle too high (causes hamstring strain, knee pain), reach too long (lower back pain, neck tension), cleats misaligned (knee tracking issues). A professional fit uses video analysis, pressure mapping, and sometimes laser alignment. Budget: expect to spend 2-4 hours and £150-300 for a comprehensive fit.
